Biography
If art is a medium which has the potential to spark emotions, then I believe photography is art. We all have heard that a photo is worth a thousand words. Among the vast range of emotions humans can experience, photos can recall memories to many or allow others to see objects and elements in our environment from a new angle while influencing several to adopt new behaviors or reflect on their actions and beliefs. Thus, photography has the potential to resuscitate emotions and broaden one’s perspectives and perceptions of the world around us.
In the last 20 years, I travelled from Alaska and the Canadian Arctic to Colombia, Norway and Turkey. I developed an appreciation for architecture and nature in general. I like to attempt to capture aesthetic photographs of cities, monuments, trees, flowers, landscapes and commoners. While some photos can fall in the street or architectural photography category others can be inspired by minimalist subjects. I enjoy exploring and attempting to use colours, lines, light, shadows, shades and contrasts to highlight scenes which can inspire a story or convey a deep authentic personal feeling from a moment set in time.
Since my first attempts at photography back in college with a 35 mm Pentax K1000 and films, I remained an enthusiastic photographer. In 2013, I visited the Fotografiska Museum in Stockholm and several World Press Photo exhibitions afterwards and my interest in photography grew. Today, when I take out my camera on a subject or for a project, I feel like time stops and this allows me to dedicate my attention and my energy to my photography.
Until 2023, I enjoyed photography with portable phones and a Nikon D40 then, D5200 while editing my photos quickly with Snapseed and exploring Lightroom. Even though my previous photos remain limited in quality to be developed, enlarged beyond 16” x 20” and exported consequently to the equipment I used, I invite you to appreciate the composition of some of my favourite shots and consider how my eye and my approach could serve your needs or interests.
In 2024, I am taking the initiative to dive into the world of photography with professional equipment. From now on, I aspire to progressively expose some of my work online to eventually take on new projects and mandates.
Finally, I thank you for visiting my website and I invite you to visit my portfolio. You are welcome to contact me and leave your comments, submit a request, a personal project or just make suggestions.
Kindly,
